Full Description
I have for your consideration a Smith & Wesson Model 10-8 .38 Special revolver. She was born in 1982.
Heavy 4" barrel. Excellent timing and lockup, proper barrel-to-cylinder gap, no endshake or hammer push-off. Mechanically, she's a good, solid old revolver.
This one clearly went wandering abroad at some point, as evidenced by the CAI import marking on the side. Many Model 10s found their way to France, Britain, Australia, Japan, the Philippines, and elsewhere. Exactly where this one spent its earlier life, I don't know.
She has honest holster wear, but no indication of heavy use or abuse. Just the sort of wear you'd expect on a working revolver.
My father carried a heavy-barrel Model 10 as a cop. He describes it as the perfect combat weapon: no adjustable rear sight to break off in a wrestling match like the Model 19, a barrel thick enough to whack somebody on the head without bending it, and a gun that simply fired straight and smooth every time.
His description has always stuck with me.
I reckon policing was dif'rent back then?
I'd like to see $475 for this one, cash on the barrel head. Trades unlikely, but not impossible.
I'm located right between Palmer and Wasilla.
Thanks for taking a look!
